  1. The piece I feel represents me is titled “Untitled-Whirlpool” by Shozo Shimamoto, you may ask why select a piece that is not a self-portrait? Art can symbolize and represent anything and anyone, therefore this piece speaks volumes about me. Beginning with the many different colors, the piece consists of almost all colors in some shape or form, making it seem very different and extroverted, similar to how I act and respond to my environment.

The colors in the piece are layered in a very unique way, similar to an onion, which in a sense can represent me; to get to know me you must understand that there are many layers to my personality. This aspect is almost universal though, but the fact that each layer is completely different best describes me.

In a way this piece also represents my mind, how it is always jumping from place to place. My thought are always scattered and not always where they should be. The final thing that I will say is that in my eyes this piece has a very bright and pleasant feel to it, which is how I always strive to be, a happy and enjoyable person to be around.

  2. The artist Emilio Amero Created the piece "where" with the medium Lithograph in the creation of multiple morphing Figures all surrounded by light and dark ribbons. The particular style and value really helps represents me and usually how I myself deal with certain situations and drawing itself. I really enjoy being care free so with that ideology I truly believe that this piece gave a great example in representing that.Overall the piece i enjoyed viewing and all in the same token it really represented me and what i aim for in my personality.

  3. I feel most related to the scream by Edvard Munchs. It seems very bare when you glance at it. Yet , If yOu take the time out and review it, a viewer can see the agony the person is exPressing and how there a variety of colors in one object or water and dock. Like me, this screamer has a bigger message and seems alone but in the background you can see other human figures , though they are not interactive .

  4. The "Mona Lisa" is one of the art work that interests me the most. Not only for the painting itself but also for the story of the artist and the mystery behind the painting. I identify with this painting because it is made in the same style I'm going for when I paint. This painting gives me inspiration when I'm creating my own artwork.

  5. I found Kris Lewis' "Intrepid Drift" most relatable to me. The painting has a lot of emotion and meanings. When I took the time to view it, I could see how sad the woman's eyes are and how she is just drifting at sea. I can relate to this because sometimes in life I feel like I am lost, just like she is in a vast ocean, but my ocean is called life. Even though she is alone at sea, she sits up strong showing she can take what ever that storm at sea will give her. And over all I relate to her because she stays strong, even though she is alone.
